About our church

This Church was established because of the growth of Christian Science in Santa Fe, and is maintained for the purpose of making known the Science of Christianity, as taught in the Bible and in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.

In the Fall of 1919, four students of Christian Science began meeting in private homes in Santa Fe to hold Sunday Services. They held their first Thanksgiving Service two years later. and regular Wednesday Evening meetings quickly followed.

The group was organized as a Christian Science Society in July 1930, and was recognized by The Mother Church in December of that year. A Reading Room was opened in 1932 and has been operating continuously in various locations since that time.

The Society became First Church of Christ, Scientist, Santa Fe, on December 18, 1947 and was incorporated the following July.

Construction of the church building was begun in August 1968, and completed in December of that same year. The church was opened with a Wednesday Evening Meeting on Christmas Eve.
